A few years back, when we founded KONCEPT HOTELS, we wanted to prove that hospitality can be different to what it has been for decades. Whenever you travel, it is quite common to you that you do the check-in and boarding at the airport with your smartphone, you navigate through cities with your smartphone, rent a car or bike with your smartphone and even when staying at an Airbnb, you do most of the stuff with your smartphone.

Not so when staying at a hotel, right?
Well, think again. Of course, when you check-in, open your room and check-out with your smartphone, you do a lot of work for us and thus save us money. We re-invest this saved money in things, we care about and think that you might also appreciate them.

We invest in renewable energy, in toilet paper that supports sanitary projects worldwide, in sustainably produced soap, in furniture made in Europe, craftsmen from the region, laundry bags that were produced in an integrative workshop for people with disabilities and last but not least we invest in a fair cooperation with everybody who is working with us and for us. All that comes at a price, but with your help we love to pay a little bit more for things that make the world a better place.

Since we have no on-site staff at the hotel, you can check in with us.
Don’t worry: It’s easy & we tested it with our parents and grandparents. You can do it!

There are two ways to get into your room.
The easiest way is via smartphone: You have to check in online before your arrival. You will receive a link for online check-in in your booking confirmation and in the email we send you two days before your arrival. Please fill in all the information and you will automatically receive an email with your keys on the day of arrival, as soon as your room is clean and ready. Now you only have to select the door you are standing in front of and press the corresponding button on your smartphone and – tada! – and you’re in!

Alternatively, there is also our Check-in Terminal. You will receive an email from us two days before your arrival, in which we will send you the door code for the hotel entrance. Once you are at the hotel, you can easily find the check-in terminal and check yourself in and get a key card like you know from other hotels. Online check-in also saves you a lot of time, which is why we recommend doing it in any case.

Even if this description has gotten a bit longer: It is really very intuitive and simple and you will be able to check in easily. And if something really doesn’t work, we are always available for you.

We think we’re quite good at hotels, but not at gastronomy. You will find the best cafés in Tübingen’s old town. For a quick start to the day, we recommend the following two establishments within walking distance of the hotel:

Station

You can reach the Tübingen train station in about 15 minutes by car, or you can take bus line 3 from the ‘Sternwarte’ stop and travel for about 20 minutes.

Airport

You can reach Stuttgart Airport by public transport in 1.5 – 2 hours. By taxi we would plan 30 – 40 minutes.

Supermarket

The closest supermarket is the EDEKA in Waldhäuser-Ost. You can find something really special at Bechtle Hof and at Naturkostladen im Schafbrühl.

ATM

You can find a branch of the Kreissparkasse Tübingen about 8 minutes on foot at Hartmeyerstraße 9, 72076 Tübingen.

Public transport stop.

If you leave the hotel in a northerly direction, you will reach the Nordring and the Horemer stop after about 200 metres. Bus line 5 stops here. To the south, you will find the bus stop Sternwarte, where bus line 3 stops. Both take you quickly to the old town of Tübingen. All information about the TüBus network can be found here.

Parking

On the street in front of our hotel, you will find some paid parking spaces. In addition, the nearest parking garage is located in Friedrich-Miescher-Straße, 500 meters away from the hotel.

You can pick up a basket in our kiosk in which we have put together a selection of all the kitchen utensils you need. You will find the kiosk in the basement. There are baskets for you to fill yourself. Just take what you need.

Just leave your basket and all the utensils in your room when you leave – we’ll take care of the rest.

It’s a bit complicated, we know. But HERE are the instructions.

We have found in a large guest survey that cleaning every two days is perfectly sufficient. Of course, your room is tiptop cleaned with our ecologically degradable cleaning products. By cleaning with the steam cleaner, your room is not only clean, but also virus-free, as the steam has a virucidal effect on surfaces.

If you stay for three nights, for example, your room will be cleaned again by us after the second night, and you will receive a set of new towels if you wish.

By the way: By cleaning every two days, we save up to 20 percent CO2 per stay on average.

Should you be staying longer with us, your cleaning interval was pre-defined with you or your company, so it may vary and not be every two days.

Good news: Yes, you can.
We have a washer and dryer from WeWash in the basement. You need to register with WeWash and then you can book a time slot via the app. One wash costs 4.00 euros, one dry costs 3.00 euros and you can pay without cash in the app (Android / iOS).

The best cafés for a great breakfast can be found in Tübingen’s old town. For a quick start to the day, we recommend the following two establishments within walking distance of the hotel:

You can! With our local partner, you not only get the best conditions for your e-bike, but also the free bring & pick-up service and breakdown service on top. You can find more information on bike rental HERE.

You can then park your bike safely in the lockable bike cellar in the basement.

Check-out is until 11.00 am. Please don’t forget anything in your room when you leave. If you have a keycard, please drop it in the check-out box before you leave.

To let you head out before check-in or after check-out without dragging your luggage around, we’ve set up free lockers for you. You will find them when you go through the kiosk into the bike cellar. Here we have deposited some room cards for you. So if you don’t have a room card yet, just grab one to lock/open your locker.
